Lacy O. Wilson, 68, Shelbyville, died unexpectedly on Thursday, June 14, 2012 at her home. A native of Shelbyville, she was the daughter of the late Evelyn Jackson Wilson and Elmore A. Wilson, Sr. She was a 1963 graduate of Lincoln Institute. She worked for Union Underwear Company in Frankfort as a garment inspector for over 20 years. She also cared for children throughout her community. She was a lifelong dedicated member of Church of God of America, where she served as deaconess among other offices.
In addition to her parents, one brother, Rev. Elmore A. Wilson, Jr. and one infant sister, Iona Hunter, preceded her in death.
Survivors include nine siblings, Brenda Wilson of Frankfort, Sylvia Marshall, Emily Wilson, Barbara Wilson, Sherman Wilson, Greg Hunter and Lucien Hunter, Jr., all of Shelbyville, Mary Benson of Louisville and Evangelist Bernice Barnes of Somerset and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 22, 2012 at Clay Street Baptist Church. Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Thursday at Church of God of America at 600 Bradshaw St. in Shelbyville. Elder Eric Barnes and Elder Justin Barnes will officiate at the funeral services. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
