L.B. 'Bert' Riney

L.B. “Bert” Riney, 86, passed away on June 29 after a brief illness. A native of Frankfort and Louisville, he has lived in Miami since 1953.  Bert is survived by his wife of 61 years, Irene; his sister Joyce Carter; his brother-in-law Kertes Fox; his children, Cathy, Mary Margaret (David), Beth, Chris, John (Kim), and Vicki (Steve), and grandchildren Christen, Drew, Meghan, Katie, Erin, and Lauren, and many devoted relatives and friends.

He was an electrical engineer with Florida Power & Light for 35 years, retiring in 1988. He was a member of the Florida Engineering Society, a WWII veteran and a recipient of a Purple Heart, and a member of the CLAMS of Miami Shores. Bert was a kind, sweet, generous soul who loved people, especially his family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society or the St. Rose of Lima Endowment Fund.
