Letter: Stewart Gallery dedication story appreciated

Dear editor,

Your recent report with a cover page picture of the Grand Theater’s dedication ceremony on Sept. 30 for The Stewart Gallery is appreciated. This space will serve both as an exhibit hall for art and photography, as well as a reception place.

I was mentioned along with my brother, Charles Stewart, but I want to emphasize that Charles is the primary benefactor of this project. He is an acknowledged preservationist (2025 recipient of the Blue Grass Trust’s Hulette Award for Central Kentucky Preservation). He originated the gallery idea with Bill Cull, the dedicated and longtime director and manager of the Grand Theater. Penny Peavler, ceremony coordinator, deserves recognition as well within the context of promoting the community and particularly Historic Frankfort.

Well done, all.

Visit, intermingle and be entertained at the Grand Theater.

Dr. John D. Stewart
